Forgive our slow start. We’re just a bunch of novice podcasters, all alone in this great big world. Give us a little slack, won’t you? Keep listening, and you’ll get to hear Chris have a heart attack and die on live air. Or maybe not – but you won’t know for sure unless you listen.

Lyskan117 here from ELR. Great podcast, consider putting the news first, I dunno, it just seems more important than CoD4 (gasp).
and about CoD4, I didn’t have the same problem as you guys did with the multiplayer, but it may have something to do with the fact that I play it on PC, not 360… not sure, maybe it’s just me.

Thanks for the support, guys!
There may or may not be pie for the early adopters.
In other news, Portal has ruined every cake joke one can conceivably think of.

lyskan, nothing is more inportant than CoD4. Shame on you!
Not a bad idea about the news though…

But if we put the news at the beginning, you won’t have any reason to listen to us!
If we get enough comments, we may do a “mailbag” section at the end and move the news up front. Everything is flexible!
So, send some comments!

Martin/Chris,
Nice first podcast, I look forward to future discussions.
One thing you didn’t discuss was the Hardcore mode in CoD4. In my mind, Team Hardcore delivers one of the more realistic tactical experiences.
R6:Vegas was one of the best TFPS’s in many years, my only problem being the third person cover system. To me, this drops the realism factor a lot. CoD4 w/Team Hardcore does one of the better jobs of delivering a true tactical FPS experience.
One thing that does hurt COD4 a little is the map design. It feels like the maps were “designed”, period. The maps don’t really feel like genuine real-world environments, more like manufactured “arenas” design for intense confrontations.

Novan_leon – Do you mind if we discuss your comments in our 3rd episode (ep2 has already been recorded)? I think you have some good points. I have only played Team Hardcore once – and while I enjoyed it, I would have liked it alot more with the clan. Since we have one guy who just got the game, we weren’t able to do any of the higher level gametypes (or at least I dont’ think we could have), so it didn’t even get mentioned. We’ll have to do some of that next week. I also agree on the level design comment. While I think most of the maps are alot of fun, I don’t get the feel that I do from games that are fully conceptualized as “tactical” games.

Sure, go ahead. I look forward to hearing it.

Hey – you’re not Alpha9 by any chance, are you?
