I just had to support the news item with the Frontlines buggy with some pictures:

The C4 Buggy as in game.

    Dragon Runner Unmanned Ground Vehicle

Bears a bit of resemblance, don’t you think?

  2. BlackguardSpork says:

Ok, so I have a few games to add to the list, at least, that are worth checking out.

You were talking about xcom or whatever, sounded smiler to “Lords of Magic” by sierra. A TBS where you built up a base, negotiated with enemies and built an army that wandered around looking for resources and your enemies. Then, when you met, you could go into an RTS battle to see who won. Plus, your “lords” could be customized with a crap load of stuff.

Another, very much lesser known, tactical game would be DEFCON. http://www.everybody-dies.com/
You can get a demo there. Its a slower paced thermo-nuclear war simulator that is, in fact, quite tactical.

Just thought I would throw those out there. And thanks for the acknowledgment.

  3. Mike says:

    Another great show guys 🙂

  4. Martin says:

In other news, I remembered the WWII Isometric Squad Based Shooter: Silent Storm.

Great until the “Panzerkleins” came around.

  5. Keefe says:

    Hey, now…

Half Life’s multiplayer was awesome! I can remember several LAN parties back in the day where many of us were more then entertained for hours…especially the map with the button that shuts the blast doors in the little fort thing…

Enjoying the podcast, guys, keep up the good work. 🙂
