Battlefield Bad Company weapons are all free now

You squawked, DICE listened. All weapons will be included in both the standard and gold editions, but the standard edition players will need to unlock the “extra” weapons through gameplay. Still a bit f’ed up, if you ask me, because gold edition buyers will, in effect, be buying gameplay unlocks. That seems like something that could greatly affect the overall flavor of the game. Whatever. It’s just a game…

and a really fun one at that.

–UPDATE–

Luke Plunket has a great writeup on why this is a hollow victory over at Kotaku. I mostly agree, but I think he’s missing the fact that the outcry from the small-but-loud actually was listened to. That’s a victory in and of itself. Read it HERE.

  1. I’ll admit. I’m surprised. As stupid as the idea was, I figured EA would stick with it.

Well, you do have to unlock the weapons in Call of Duty 4 as well, so that doesn’t bother me so much.

Meh, I was only going to get the game if you guys recommended it anyways. I’ve never been able to get into Battlefield. But if the Tango Down community wants to play Battlefield…I’ll play Battlefield…

I don’t mind the unlock aspect of it at all. What I don’t like is the fact that if you pay $10, you get to bypass all of that.
